Robert Altman.
Robert Altman was a well known director, but in my oppinion he was not that great of a director. I liked the long goodby and the player but besides that his films were to hard to follow, and his trademark sound blending was not that amazing, more just annoying than anything. Something some people can probabaly get used to, but i most deffinetly could not. The long goodby was by far my favorite film of his, Marlow the P.I. a very likeable character that most of us can somehow relate to, he is also a man who lost his cat, and that can never be forgiven. The player was a very good film as well, it was somewhat confusing but good none the less, You have a main character who gets death threats, kills the guy he thinks is the one, he was wrong, marries the wife of the guy he killed and lives happily ever after. Good work by altman but that still doesnt make him a good director in my perspective. Nashville was horrible, the music was bad, the sound blending was bad and the final scene was just an epic fail of amazing proportions. So over all on a scale from 1-10, 10 being highest i would give Altman a 6 as an over all director.

Flags Of Our Fathers
Having never seen this movie before, i now know why everyone has always said it was a fantastic film. It was. From the beggining at the training camp to the end that is filled with un wanted fame, you feel as though you are with the characters the whole time, fighting the war, being imprisoned and all the trageties that occur. I also enjoyed the way they filmed the movie with all the quick shots, you felt like you were there. The colors were very interesting, i personly didnt like them, it was too dark, and not enough if you ask me. I guess thats what makes it more realistic, to have all the shadow makes you again feel as though you are at war. This was a great film about team work as well but there was also even more sadness, because these men dont believe they are the heros, wich truthfully they arent, they say at one point in the movie "the true heros are the ones that are derad on that island". now this is mostly true, there were men who gave alot and made it back too.
This movie has been greatly critisized for the lack of black soldiers. spike lee who made a movie about an all black regiment was upset that clint eastwood did not have any in his movie, but hey, what can you do. In all i thought the movie was great. Great movie!

citizen kane
this movie was truly a master peice but i dont know if it really appealed to me in a way that it may for others, i mean come on it was his sled and how did no body notice that it said rose bud, is everybody stupid. i just think that rosebud could have been a little more significant but i guess thats not my choice. it was however a good movie though. it has all the twists you want, in a way its a couple genres at onece its got some mystery some love story and some documentary or biography in a way the key aspects of the film that i thought stood out the most was the camera angles and the visual effects they used to show the viewer how big or little things were.

Something related to film
Film is a way that people can express they way they think out into the world which is why sometimes movies are good but sometimes they suck some movies show passion and sometimes you wonder if it was a monkey in a man suit.
